My oh my, how the last month has flown by! I haven’t even had a chance to dig into my June box and already I’ve received my July Birchbox! I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed with my collection as of late, so I wasn’t quite as excited for this month’s box. But, I’m happy to find that I can quickly use up each of the items I received this month without having something to kick around for a year or more.
The box itself this month is so cute with a pink water color scheme and bright blue tissue paper. It’s really hard not to love the Birchbox packaging. I’m so-so on most of these products, and wasn’t really overly excited about any. With that being said, I do think that this is a very practical box, and I will get a lot more than $10 of use out of it, so it’s definitely a good value.
Birchbox Unboxing, July 2016
Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer
The first, and biggest item in the box was a large sample of the Dr. Jart+ Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer. Usually I don’t like to mess with my skincare routine, but based on the reviews this product looks like it might be a perfect match for my dry skin. I think I will give this product the college try to see how it compares to my holy grail, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream.
Balance Me Treatments Radiance Face Mask
Along the skincare lines, Birchbox also sent through a sample of the Balance Me Radiance Face Mask, which is exactly what I need for dull, lackluster skin. I love masks and treatments so much, so I’m really excited to give this a try!
My Daughter Fragrances, Bloom 23
I’ve never heard of this fragrance brand before, but I’m always happy to try new things. I actually don’t mind getting fragrance samples, as they’re usually pretty spot on to my taste when they come from Birchbox. I adore gardenia, so I think this scent will be nice for a summer pick-me-up! Bloom 23 smells exactly like you’re taking a stroll through the garden.
Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl Mascara
This month I was given a choice between 3 different mascaras – I decided to go with the Marcelle mascara to try something new. I can achieve volume pretty easily, so I usually love lengthening formulas. I’m excited to try this out to see how it competes with Benefit and Smashbox, which were the other two options available. The curved, wire brush looks like the kind of wand that I love for mascara, so I have high hopes!
Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream
I’m a little dissapointed with how small this sample is, but I’m happy to try out the Supergoop! SPF 35 Daily Correct CC Cream in Light/Medium. Again, Birchbox does a phenomenal job in recommending face products, so I am confident in this CC cream. Plus, it’s always good to add in SPF, so this is a multi-use product for me.
Oribe Shampoo & Conditioner for Brilliance and Shine
I’m in love with Oribe products, so I’m happy to try out sachets for the Oribe Shampoo for Brilliance & Shine and the Oribe Conditioner for Brilliance & Shine. It sucks that these are one-use samples, but I do think that this was the bonus item, as there are usually only 5 products. I’ll definitely save these for a fun trip where I plan on treating myself :)
