Sample Sunday: Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray

Until I went in for a facial a few weeks ago, I hadn’t thought much of hydrating mists or setting sprays. I had received a sample of the Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist & Setting Spray in a Play! by Sephora box, but was more interested in the makeup items from that box.

However, in the facial my esthetician used the Eminence Stone Crop Hydrating Mist on my parched skin, giving me glowing skin and helping to boost my skin’s moisture within seconds. From that point forward, I fit a hydrating mist into my skincare routine after cleansing and before applying my day and night serums. It’s made such a huge difference in my skin!

This invigorating essence face mist helps replenish radiance and moisture while protecting and soothing the skin. The vitalizing and energizing mist contains glycerin, which acts as a natural humectant and toner, helping attract moisture to the skin and providing extra hydration for a supple skin surface.

Farmacy Skin Dew – Uses

The Farmacy Skin Dew can be used both as a toner and as a makeup setting spray. I personally do not use this to set my makeup, but fell in love with it as part of my skincare regime. In the morning I wash my face in the shower with a creamy cleanser, and then as soon as I step out I spritz to my face and rub it in with my finger tips. Once dry, I follow this up with my favorite serum and moisturizer for a soft, hydrated finish. At night I follow the same routine, but using the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish from the start.

I’m not certain if it’s just because I have the sample bottle, but the mist was not very fine, and definitely shot through big droplets. I didn’t see an issue with this for toning my skin, but if you intend on using this product to set your makeup, it may be an issue.

Is this mist hydrating?

What I love most about this mist is that it truly is very moisturizing. It isn’t enough to replace your daily moisturizer, but really helped clean up my dry skin issues in a harsh winter climate. If you struggle with dry skin in the winter, this product is going to give you an instant boost with long-term skin benefits.

I also noticed that once I began using this product, some of the acne I had was clearing up. When my skin is overly dry, I’m much more prone to small blemishes on my forehead, and these were dramatically reduced by the time I finished up this sample.

All-in-all I am very happy with this product. I’ve since moved on to try the Herbivore Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist, and am not quite as impressed. Once I use up the bottle, I might try another brand, or I may purchase the Farmacy mist.
