June Beauty (and Fitness) Favorites, 2015

Happy summer everyone! It’s finally here, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m not much for winter – who knows WHY I chose to live in Vermont – but summer here is truly beautiful. And, to go along with the change in weather comes a change in my mood and lifestyle. I’ve been on a great fitness kick and I’ve really been enjoying my closet & vanity lately without having to do too much new shopping. It’s been great on my health, my wallet, and my creativity.

This month’s favorites go along with this theme. I’m loving bright, fresh and clean – take a look!

My June Beauty Favorites:

1. City Color Creamy Lip Stain in Flirtini

I don’t usually wear too much on my lips, but in the summer I love to go with a bubblegum pink – the Flirtini shade from City Color is perfect for bright summer looks. I received this product in my February Ipsy Glam Bag, and I haven’t used it too much until June. I was taking a look through my collection and I thought it would suit the outfit I was wearing. I was happy to find that the formula is really great – the stain is long lasting and the creamy consistency gives a lipstick-like appearance. The best part is that it doesn’t dry out my lips. If you are a fan of creamy stains, you’ll definitely want to give City Color a shot.

2. Clinique All About Shadow Quad

Another underutilized product, I decided to take out my Clinique eyeshadow quad – check out swatches here with a Maybelline dupe. Even though the Maybelline palette knocks my socks off, I don’t want the Clinique palette to go to waste. Because it’s not as pigmented or shimmery, it’s easier to pull off at work and during the day. Take a look at the makeup look below featuring this palette! Give the pic a like if you’d like to see a tutorial.

Loving this gold and coral look! It’s a #TequilaSunrise! Let me know if you’d like to see a blog post on this #lotd

3. Garnier Ultra Lift Moisturizer + Serum

I’m really loving the Garnier Moisturizer that I picked up in my Spring Beauty Haul from Ulta and the drugstore. Instead of shelling out $30 on a moisturizer meant for your neck and chest I thought it would be most cost effective to pick up a drugstore moisturizer instead. It’s really working wonders for the fine lines that are beginning to develop on my neck and chest, but I will admit I’m running through this product really quickly. I still think it is more cost effective than a lot of neck creams, but because it goes so fast it’s still relatively expensive. If you have any good recommendations of a low-priced moisturizer let me know in the comments below!

4. Bath and Body Works Shower Gel in Sun

This favorite is purely due to the scent. The Sun scent is so fresh with soft floral undertones. It’s truly the perfect scent to start off the summer right!

5. Zoya Nail Polish in the color Dot

If you’re a fan of muted colors like Essie’s Fiji and the Nails Inc. Whites Collection, you will definitely love Zoya’s Dot. It’s a soft, pastel pink and the formula is really great. Unlike Fiji, Dot is a bit more flexible so it won’t chip as easily as some of Essie’s shades. I really love this color with a tan, it’s such a nice look.

6. Essie Good to Go Top Coat and Finish

Another grab from my Spring Beauty Haul, I can’t believe I’ve gone this long in my life without trying an Essie top coat. This top coat does everything I want a top coat to do – it creates shine, prevents chipping, helps speed the dry time, and leaves a hard layer so I don’t have blanket marks in my nail polish. It’s just perfect.

Fitness Favorites

As I said before, I’m really on a fitness kick – and part of this is due to a fun new fitness wardrobe. I had to mention some of my favorites this month, and neon colors are up there. I’m in love with this neon sports bra from the Express Fitness line. It’s so comfortable, has a tiny bit of padding, great support, and on clearance a very reasonable price.

These fun triangle shorts with rainbow color are so stretchy and soft and were less than $10 at TJ Maxx. Along with a bunch of bottoms in all shapes and colors, I had a field day with the great prices at TJ Maxx – it was actually like their annoying commercials.

If you’re looking for some new fitness clothes, I would definitely check out both Express and TJ Maxx, they have really nice options at reasonable prices!
