There’s something about summer that makes me crave naturally healthy glowing skin. I absolutely love taking it easy with my makeup when the weather gets warm, and emphasizing my natural glow. While much of this comes from your fitness routine and diet, it can’t hurt to aid the process with beautiful skincare products.
More than ever I’ve been trying out new skincare items and I’ve been loving the results. So far, items from Drunk Elephant and Juice Beauty have been my favorite, but I am dying to try out other popular brands as well. Because skincare takes a while to test out, I try not to switch things up too often so for the purpose of this post I’m sharing my wishlist for items to try throughout the summer. Comment below with your favorites and recommendations for what I should try next!
SPF: Caudalie Resveratrol Life Face Lifting Moisturizer with SPF 20
I picked up a sample of the Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Face Lifting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 in a recent Play! by Sephora box, and have really loved the texture. I like to follow my normal skincare routine and then wait until I apply my makeup to add this SPF to my skin. I love that this product doesn’t feel like a film over my skin, and it sits well underneath makeup. Plus, I trust the Caudalie brand to supply the best skincare ingredients in their products. Once I’m out of my sample, I think I will be picking up the full size for my daily SPF.
Serum: Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum
I can’t wait to try the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum which boasts the ability to brighten dull skin and provide a shot of vitamin C for extra firming results. I’m head of heels in love with my current night serum, the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, so I wanted to try out more items from Drunk Elephant. I actually picked up the Sephora Favorites Scouted by Sephora skincare sampler kit which includes the day serum, and I can’t wait to give it a try!
Hydrating Mist: Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist
Along with my serum obsession, I’ve also been LOVING using a hydrating mist to start my skincare routine every day. I’ve tried mists from First Aid Beauty, Herbivore, Mario Badescu and Farmacy and have loved them all. The trick is to find a balance between price and skin benefit, so i’m wondering if the Hydrating Mist from Juice Beauty at $24 is the one. I have loved almost every product I’ve tried from Juice Beauty, and something about their hydrating mist has me drooling a little bit on the inside.
Highlighter: Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Glow Shot Liquid Highlighter
Over the last few months I’ve been obsessed with liquid highlighters. They’re the second step in my makeup routine (after adding SPF), and I am very generous with application. While normally I would put a highlight only on the high points of my face, I’ve been loving adding it under my eyes, over my nose, across my cheeks and up onto my temples and eyebrow bones. Then, when I add concealer and makeup on top of these areas, the highlight peeks through just enough to give a super healthy glowing appearance, I LOVE IT!
I’m interested to try the Yves Saint Laurent TOUCHE ECLAT Glow Shot Liquid Highlighter in Daylight because It also includes some skin-loving ingredients:
Hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E antioxidants, and golden pigments to eliminate signs of fatigue, plump your skin and give you a bright, flawless complexion.
Night Cream: Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate
I’ve never tried anything from Tatcha before, but have heard wonderful things about the brand. I don’t currently use a specific moisturizer for night, so I’m looking for something that’s a bit more dewy and that gives my skin more plumpness for the morning. While it’s a little bit pricey, the Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate sounds like a dream! If you’ve tried this, please let me know in the comments whether it’s worth the splurge.
Mask: Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial
Speaking of Drunk Elephant, I’ve also heard rave reviews for their Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial. Similar to their Glycolic night serum, the Babyfacial is going to resurface the skin for a smooth, even texture. I have dry skin, so any product that is going to remove any patches and leave my skin looking even is a winner for me. I’m excited by the amazing reviews for this product, and so while it’s pricey I am willing to give it a shot.
Exfoliation: Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Organic Peel Spray
The STEM CELLULAR Exfoliating Peel Spray is another one that I’ve tried before from a sample, and every time I use it I’m awed by the results. I only need to use 2-3 sprays to completely exfoliate my skin, and it’s so quick and easy to use. I’m running low on my sample and will most definitely be buying the full size. It’s honestly the best exfoliant I’ve ever tried, and I’m not afraid of the chemicals it’s using. I. can’t. get. enough. of. this. spray.
Body Care: Clarins Body Fit Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert
With a more regimented fitness routine and a healthier diet I’ve lost some weight and have seen cellulite on my thighs reduce drastically, but being 26 it doesn’t feel like my skin is bouncing back as easily as it once used to. After seeing really great reviews, I’m interested in trying the Clarins Body Fit Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert to see if it helps on any remaining dimples, and also on my stomach for a bit more firmness. I realize that this is mostly going to come from my lifestyle and the actual massaging motion of applying the product, but hey… if I can get firmer skin from a product I’m all for it!
