Tata Harper is one of those brands that I’ve known about for a while and have always wanted to try. Being in Vermont myself, I am drawn to this Vermont-based brand which totes a health-conscious motto.

100% natural and nontoxic skincare, cosmetics, and aromatherapy. We’ll never use synthetic chemicals and everything we make is formulated and manufactured by us at our farm in Vermont. – Tata Harper

When I saw this sample of the Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer in Sephora’s mobile offers I snatched it up right away. I wasn’t in need of a new moisturizer, but I’ve wanted to try the brand out for so long. With a somewhat pricey product range, I didn’t want to go in blindly without testing out a product or two.

I can now happily say, this is a brand worth checking out!

About the Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer

How illuminating is this moisturizer?

What I wasn’t expecting from this moisturizer is that it does add a very subtle, gold-toned shimmer to your face. It’s not quite as metallic as a liquid highlighter, but I don’t know that I’d use it as a daily moisturizer. I’m glad that I picked this up in the holiday season – the subtle golden glow helps to warm up my skin and provides a lovely glow for holiday parties. I don’t know that I’d wear this for daily wear at the office, but if you wear foundation or are looking for a pretty glow, you should definitely give this a try.

Is it hydrating?

I have very dry skin, so I look for a cream that is both quick absorbing and long-lasting. I don’t feel that this moisturizer was long lasting, but have no problem wearing this over my regular daily moisturizer. If anything, I felt it purposed nicely as a makeup primer, giving my skin a plumping boost before adding makeup.

However, if you have oily skin this may be enough hydration for you. The formula leaves a non-greasy feel which is so nice for any skin type. I highly recommend this product as an additional moisturizer – not quite a replacement for your daily favorites.

All-in-all

Overall I am really happy with this sample. I think the gold-hued shimmer is lovely for the holidays and would look so nice with a tan. I think I’m going to reserve the rest of my sample to take with me on an upcoming beach holiday.

The formula glides so smoothly over my skin and now I’m more interested to try some of the other products from the Tata Harper line. I have my eyes on the Tata Harper Nourishing Oil Cleanser and Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Creme, so I will likely pick up the Tata Harper The Luminous Glow Collection to give a few more products a try!
